Another Open Mic Night second Interveiws

I was really happy it worked out How I planned I have learnt that the envoriment has a lot in put when it comes down to taking the interview and I am thinking This is where the Ethical comes in cause I noticed through the process if the the person who I am interviewing doesn't feel comfortable the Interveiw would be quite short. So going back to the interview I also noticed a lot of artist have either finished performing or they are getting ready to go and sing so I was aware there energy levels will either be up or down Nevrseness, excited. I interviewed two people and there is a third which I have to e-mail him the questions.
The Venue had an up and down stairs so I done the Interveiws upstairs away from where the open mic was taking place because I had learnt from the last Open Mic Night it has to be away from the music so I can make the Interveiw comfortable nd doing this it made it a lot relaxing this time around I done a different approach than the last time instead of going straight into the questions I was asking then about there background about music and than i spoke on what i am inqury about there was one lady we where having such a lovely convocation we spoke for a while after the Interveiw because we didn't just talk about the inquiry questions we spoke about life in generally that was great. The second person I Interveiw she wasnt has talkie but she answered the questions So reflecting for the next open mic night I go to when I get to the venu i am going to have a walk around to see where I can take my Interveiw hopefully it will be has relaxing has this one.

The Interview and Reflection on it!!

It was really interseting the enivoment was to noisey for one and I knew that this would be the case I interviewed two artists it was really hard to talk I gave them the consent form and I didnt end up getting them back cause they wanted to take it away and read it and I guess that where the ethcial considernations come into it becuase I wanted the form to be signed and I thought that would be the case so I am thinking now if I cant get my questions answered in that envirvoment I might do it in an e-mail form I took there business card and I said that I will get to them via e-mail and they where fine with that. It was really interesting because the two Artist that I interveiwed one was an just coming out into the industry and the other artist has been in the industry for many years has I said I was really nevrse but I had to overcome that because that same fear would have stopped me.For a while I was questioning my Inqury whether or not I should do it but when I was interveiwing my passion for the Inqury really came up there would be a next Open Mic Night in March I am not gonna let this exprience from going to a next Open Mic Night because what I have realised every Open Mic Night is different so I will be preparing for that adjusting my questions slightly I will be blogging that have a nice evening guys.

Tuesday 14 February 2012

Hello Guys, I hope you are all well.
I am going to an Open Mic Night tomorrow evening and I am quite nerves I am going to be  doing my interview with participants and i hope and pray it all goes well has i said I feel quite nerves but confident at the same time reflecting on how I am feeeling I think my confidents comes from my preparation i just need to believe much more in my questions which I am going to ask the participants I keep on looking at them and reading the questions to myself  Im just making sure it is not  a yes or no question.

A slight change to my Inquiry question

A little change to my inquiry question this was my original question ‘Are there benefits for an artist when performing at open mic nights?’  but when I spoke with  my adviser in my feedback session we spoke about the question and I soon noticed that it really is a yes or no answer so I have changed it to How do Artists feel they benefit from performing at Open Mic Night? I think me changing it to this it gives the participant more to think about and I think it will give them more free flow in answering the question..

We went over what we would be doing in this module and it is the contuination from our inqury reflecting on my progress so far I have had ups and downs highs and lows but I am still standing and moving forward with the next module there is one thing that I said and wrote down in todays session I have let go of  PANIC bye, bye. In our session today Adesola handed out these sheets with pictures on it at which I will be putting up very sortly it was really interseting it made me look back on the process on module 2. So now for this module the assessments will be three parts
>The critical Review  >The professional Artefact  >Oral Presentation.
So I need to get started but first I have to start with the favourite word Organise and scheduling when I want to get things it was a good session today and it has starting me off with the postive thinking and the motivnation I need to achieve one of my dreams.

6A Tools of Professional Inquiry.

A Pilot interview for the host of Open Mic Nights.

* What are the positive aspects of hosting Open Mic?
* When people perform at Open Mic Nights do they gain anything?
* Do you have to be an artist to perform?

A pilot interview for the 'Praticipant' in Open Mic Nights.

* Do you think that open mic nights benefit you as a participant/performer if so how and why?
* How do you feel when performing at these events?
* Would you advice anyone with Talent/skills in song writing, poetry spoken word or cover songs to take part these nights if so why?
*Is there anything you will like to see improved with regards to open mic nights if so why?

Because of the environment and setting of the open mic nights, I had to take careful consideration in the choices of Inquiry Tools to be used, insiders to gain as much information for the pilot survey foquestionnaires to be given out and returned it will take a bit more time. So I found the most appropriate too was the interviews before any questions were asked, I handed out detailed consent forms, to with the 'Host' and the 'Participants' explaining my Inquiry below is a draft of this consent form.

Ethics is one to take sersouisly as its one of the major contributory factors to a successful organisation . It covers such a wide range of issues which if unaware of its importance, it can lead to employees being disciplined as even 'sacked'. The rules and regulations of every employees must be respected and adhered to, where individuals must be respected, consent must be gained and confidentiality carried out inspite of a an individuals 'religious' beliefs, culture, morals, as background in an Open Mic Night session.

5A Thoughts on Professional Ethics in Open Mic Nights part 3

When asked about the Professional Ethics in open mic nights, I found quite hard to go about as I was not sure of what the word 'ethics' meant. i later found out that it was related to moral principles framewroks. 'Moral refees to the night and wrong conduct/a persos standard of behavies. Having found and understand the meanings I had to think moral issues that I may have to face when entering Open Mic Nights. I know that before any Inqury could be carried out, I had to gain coment from both the host and the participants. Anyone who enters a Open Mic Night, whether it be as part of an audience as to participate, must abide by set rules, so that everyone is respected and protected in that environment. Taking photos, recording, and interveiws can only be carried out if given the 'go ahead' as confidentiality is one to be considered when it comes to  participants mights and wishes.

5A thoughts on Professional Ethics in Open Mic Nights.

When entering into a Open Mic Night myself has the inqury has to be mindful of  if  i want to take pictures, record or flim a perforamnce, interviews or wanting the artists to fill suverys I would need to ask permission from the host for the artists consent for that reason why there has to be a consent from the artist is to protect myself. and the rules will have to be obeyed by, by both myself as the inqury, the artist and the audience these include gaining consent and keeping all information confident.
